System Center (SC) is a suite of IT management products. It consists of seven different components that cover every aspect of Datacenter management including provisioning, configuration, monitoring, data protection, service management, orchestration, and automation at scale. These products are continuously evolving by adding capabilities to effectively manage large scale Datacenters and to connect these datacenters with Azure to enable Azure Hybrid Management Services on the workloads running on these datacenters.
You will join us in one of the System Center teams that will empower customers to seamlessly manage their workloads running on on-prem datacenters through Azure. You will also need to collaborate with different teams across Microsoft to transform monolithic architecture to microservices architecture and to build new Azure services from scratch leveraging cloud native practices to enable customers to simplify management and to extend other Azure management services to the workloads running on these datacenters, and edge. We are looking for an energetic leader who will drive our new Hybrid management charter and bring along our large customer base on this journey.
This is a Principal SWE manager role with lots of executive visibility, deep technical impact, product innovation and culture role model with opportunity for advancement. The role involves application of distributed system fundamentals, problem solving and growth mindset to create simple solutions to complex engineering problems. The job requires cross group collaborations, so you?ll need to love that kind of work and be proficient at creating and maintaining warm and productive working relationships with other teams. You will play key role to mentor and grow junior members of the team.

10+ years of experience in commercial software development.
3+ years’ minimum experience in a leadership position managing enterprise platform, product, or services teams
BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
Experience in building, shipping and operating reliable, distributed systems software.
Ability to engage in site-reliability engineering practices. (Required)
Experience with containers and Kubernetes is preferred but not a pre-requisite.
Experience in Golang and Linux is preferred but not a pre-requisite.
Commitment to collaboration and teamwork and ability to deliver via influence
Demonstrated problem solving and debugging skills.
Experience building RESTful services.
Experience developing software hosted in Azure, AWS, or other similar Cloud platforms.
